Jane Ansah exposes Facebook impersonator behind false Vice-Presidency posts

Vice-President Dr. Jane Ansah has come out strongly against a fraudulent Facebook page that has been spreading false information in her name.

She revealed that someone had opened a fake account impersonating her and published misleading content related to the Office of the Minister of State and the Office of the Second Vice-President.

Dr. Ansah told local media that she was deeply concerned by the false claims and called for the immediate disowning and public refutation of the page.

According to her, the impersonator’s actions were calculated to deceive the public and undermine the integrity of her office.

She expressed disappointment that some individuals continue to misuse social media to distort facts and damage the reputation of public leaders.

The Vice-President stressed that the fake page has no connection to her or her official communication channels, which remain verified and professionally managed.

She also urged citizens to exercise caution when engaging with online content, emphasizing the importance of verifying information before sharing it.

Her office has since reported the matter to Meta, the company that owns Facebook, and requested the swift removal of the impersonating account.

Dr. Ansah appealed to the public to assist by reporting the fake page and avoiding interaction with any unverified sources claiming to represent her.

She reaffirmed her commitment to transparency and open communication, adding that her office will continue providing accurate updates through legitimate platforms.

The incident serves as yet another reminder of how social media can be exploited to spread misinformation, especially targeting senior government officials.

She concluded by assuring Malawians that she remains focused on her duties and dedicated to upholding truth and accountability in her service to the nation.
