Sr Kaseka of the SBVM Congregation celebrates 30 years of serving God

Sr Kaseka of the SBVM Congregation celebrates 30 years of serving God

Sr Perpetua Kaseka of the Servants of Blessed Virgin Mary (SBVM) Congregation held a thanksgiving Mass in her home village in the Diocese of Zomba to celebrate 30 years of serving God.

The mass took place in the village of Tabiya, under Traditional Authority Mwambo, and was attended by her relatives, priests, sisters, and other Christians.

Speaking at the celebration, Fr. Steven Kalabwe, who serves at Pirimiti Parish, thanked Sr Kaseka for responding to her calling to serve God.

Fr. Kalabwe, who was also representing the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Zomba, said that Sr Kaseka is like a light guiding people on the path to salvation.

He noted that serving God for 30 years is no small feat, especially since such work is not salaried but based purely on voluntary service.

Fr Kalabwe encouraged Sr Kaseka to continue her good work in serving God and to persevere in her compassionate work helping children with hearing impairments. She currently teaches at Mpalankhanga Secondary School for the deaf.

At the same time, Fr Kalabwe called upon Christians to keep Sister Kaseka in their prayers, asking God to continue blessing her and to grant her wisdom.

He also urged Sr Kaseka to pray for young girls to join various religious congregations so that they too may become sisters who serve God.

“I thank Sr Kaseka for the good work she has done in the areas where she has served, helping disadvantaged children in various ways and also supporting the sick. This is exactly what God wants,” he said.

In her remarks, Sr Perpetua Kaseka thanked God for preserving her life to this day.

She also expressed gratitude to her parents for allowing her to serve God without expecting any wealth in return.

Sr Kaseka further thanked her congregation leaders and fellow sisters for their support and guidance, which have helped her serve more effectively.
